Key Accountabilities
- Direct and lead the development of an overarching government finance strategy including strategic budgeting and capital allocations, aligned to the overall Vision and Aspirations of Abu Dhabi government
- Direct and oversee the formulation and review of the fiscal policies for Abu Dhabi government as well as the development of governance frameworks to implement controls and ensure accountability
- Provide strategic advisory and data-driven insights related to diversified revenue sources (i.e. non-oil), public financing and investment options to government entities to optimize the Emirate’s and national financial position, reserves and wealth
- Partner closely with the Department of Finance to ensure government finances and budgets are managed in compliance with international standards, local regulations and best practices
- Provides recommendations on changes and design enhancements in the financial modeling as well as reporting systems and processes to continue to drive efficiency and performance
- Establish sustainable finance practices within the department in line with the global trends and practices to enhance value creation and contribute towards Abu Dhabi Sustainable Finance Agenda
Preferred Experience And Exposure
- Experience in leading a team of finance professionals in the government department
- Experience in strategic budgeting and capital management; possesses knowledge in financial modeling
- Experience in fiscal policy development
- Understands tax policy and systems of Abu Dhabi
- Broad understanding of the overall economy outlook and development of Abu Dhabi as well as its revenue sources
