Key Accountabilities
  • Adopt innovative methods and bioinformatic solutions through studies and review of scientific literatures to optimize the existing workflows, including running tests on existing software or tools to evaluate effectiveness, benchmarking new methods / protocols or bioinformatics tools to support evaluations
  • Investigate variances in data consistency and integrity and assist in providing technically sound solutions to address data management and interpretation challenges, implement approved solution and monitor effectiveness
  • Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of the established data management processes through regular quality control inspections of the process and output, identify issues and propose corrective actions
  • Conduct technical due diligence on potential data and bioinformatics partners prior to engagement
  • Provide analytical and programming support, if necessary, to facilitate solutioning process when addressing issues raised by the entities or working groups
  • Support the implementation of any technical training or capability building interventions identified for the working groups, including coordinating for training sessions, overseeing installation of new software by external partners
  • Prepare documents such as protocols, manuals, manuscripts and presentation materials necessary to deliver objective of the department
Preferred Experience And Exposure

  • Basic knowledge of computational tools and systems for bioinformatics
  • Understand applicable laws, rules, policies regarding security, privacy, and management of confidential data.
  • Broad knowledge of general methodologies relating to whole genome sequencing and interpreting genomics data.
  • Strong statistical knowledge and programming skills using related tools
