Potential Movements
Key Accountabilities
  • Provide expert advice and political counsel on critical decisions and topics in current and emerging political environment; synthesize complex issues and provide clear perspective on a variety of subject matters to support the DG’s agenda
  • Initiate and foster strategic partnerships and networks within and outside ADEO (e.g., ADEO sector leaders, government agency leaders etc.), and manage government relation efforts (representing the DG at meetings / functions as directed) to sustain the capability and capacity to drive the DG’s short- and long-term priorities.
  • Establish key elements for horizon scanning and define the strategic research plans on matters related to the DG’s agenda and lead these studies to generate insights and support the DG’s decision making.
  • Anticipate strategic policy and agenda developments and the impact of changes and lead the review of the relevant policies and decisions to provide comprehensive analyses of opportunities and recommendations for the DG’s strategic planning consideration.
  • Directly manage complex and politically sensitive issues requested by the DG and advise on the most appropriate course of action in a timely manner.
Preferred Experience And Exposure
  • Proven working experience in Government and / or Government related entities with a successful track-record as a senior advisor or political counsel to Executive leadership.
  • Strong working knowledge of government policy processes and experience understanding political context and providing strategic and risk-based advisory
  • Experience dealing with complexity, arbitrating strategy and policy trade-offs and complementarities
  • Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and confidential and sensitive information with high level of discretion, integrity and diplomacy.
