Key Accountabilities
  • Translate the strategic direction of the Genome Program established by the UAE Genomic Council and the Chairman of ADEO into a detailed work plan for execution by the Genome Program Office, along with clear delivery outcomes, success measurement criteria, and governance framework
  • Partner with the relevant federal and local government entities, Policy Lab and Legal Affairs experts from ADEO as well as health authorities across UAE to drive strategic policy conversations to govern the genome research and execution programs
  • Share thought leadership in strategic forums and Committees’ meetings concerning genome research, its application in healthcare and related topics to advance the strategic agenda of the Genome Program
  • Build strategic partnerships and collaborations with relevant key stakeholders such as technology firms and technical experts in the relevant fields to build capabilities to drive cutting-edge genomics research
  • Provide direction in the development of communication strategy and the outreach initiatives to foster collaboration amongst the scientific communities as well to increase participation from the public
  • Direct and oversee the establishment of an ecosystem that facilitates knowledge incubation in the omics studies in line with the UAE Genome goal of building next generation of omics professionals
  • Oversee and advise on the budgetary requirements, resources and capabilities needed for successful implementation of the Genome Program based on gap analysis report reviews
  • Provide executive summaries and strategic advice related to the progress, risks, financials and any other key highlights to the Chairman of ADEO, the UAE Genome Council and any of the members as required
Preferred Experience And Exposure
  • Possess scientific expertise in areas of relevance to the Genome Sciences such as large-scale sequencing, human genomics, functional genomics, bioinformatics, population genomics and technology development
  • Extensive knowledge in research and laboratory management
  • Experience in managing large-scale, interdisciplinary consortia or similar projects, and working across complex institutional structures
  • Experience in managing budget for large projects
  • Experience in building relationships and managing stakeholders of varying profiles and levels
